Concept Plans
Have an idea of what you're after but can't work out how to pull it all together? Let us develop a plan for your site so you can take your project forward with confidence and consistency across your site.
Two types of concept plans are available depending on what you're after - a basic 'Bare Bones', no frills plan with economy in mind or our Classic Concept Plan where clients want to really make the most of their section or develop their dream home and garden.
Most of our clients opt to carry out the hardscaping themselves. Our plans usually have enough basic detail for someone with building competence to work from. Where projects are complex or require a high level finish that necessitates more detailed technical drawings we can collaborate or suggest contractors to engage to assist with this process. We can also provide recommendations for various contractors/ product suppliers and collaborate with other specialists such as lighting and irrigation designers.
Typically our clients reside in the Hutt Valley but we can assist with projects further afield. At least one site visit is required to familiarise with the particulars of the site, discuss the brief with the client and gather key measurements. We usually meet onsite to present the draft plan to clients. In most cases this can be replaced with an online/ phone call. Travel costs are as follows (return trip) and cover both time and fuel costs: Wellington $50, Wairarapa/ Kapiti $100, Horowhenua $150, Manawatu $200. Bare Bones Concept Plan
Suitable for a small site (under 400m2) where a simple scheme with standard materials and building techniques is required $1000 +gst
What you will receive: Scale plan which clearly identifies hardscape (paths, driveways, patios, fencing etc) and softscape areas (planting beds, lawns), key dimensions included. Planting is usually simple, hardy and low maintenance. We can supply and install this for you at additional cost usually in conjunction with preparation of a 'Bare Bones Planting Plan'.
Classic Concept Plan
Suited to a standard residential sized site (approx 600m2) and/ or where clients want more detail on the plan and customisation around some elements. $1800 +gst
What you will receive: Scale plan which clearly identifies hardscape (paths, driveways, patios, fencing etc) and softscape areas (planting beds, lawns) with key dimensions included. Additional page(s) providing examples of hardscape where an idea requires elaboration or photographs providing indication of types of plants which would work well together as part of the planting scheme. Also includes a photomontage (created in photoshop) to show from one key vantagepoint how the project might look upon completion. Planting can be arranged and installed for you as an additional package, usually after completion of a Classic Planting Plan.
We also can provide concept plans for larger sites such as lifestyle blocks, school grounds, local parks etc. Please inquire so we can clarify your requirements and provide a customised fee estimate.
