Many schools in New Zealand struggle to secure funding to make improvements to school grounds, with aging infrastructure, roll fluctuations, and changing curriculum requirements making such improvements all the more pressing. Fortunately, Adventure School has a proactive parent-teacher committee that engaged MOAT Landscape Design to identify key outdoor projects for refreshment over the next few years. It is anticipated that the projects will be staged as funding permits and priorities identified by the school community. The concept plan sets out a series of overarching principles and design palettes (materials and a suggested plant list) that would be applied across all projects to ensure consistency and strengthen the unique vision and character of the school and its local environs.
